Junior Trout Rodeo
ALA’s 4th Junior Trout Rodeo a Huge Success!
Building on the past success of ALA’s Junior Trout Rodeos, the Saturday, April 21, 2018 event was the best yet. On a beautiful Spring morning, 137 junior anglers tested their skills along the beach of Tavern Bay. Beginning at 8:00 AM, the kids cast their lines with the support of family and friends, in hope of catching up to five of the freshly stocked Rainbow Trout.
Open to Members and their guests, the Junior Trout Rodeo was a big hit for everyone who participated. To make the experience even better, ALA offered its first “you hook ‘em, we cook ‘em” grilling station right there on the patio hosted by ALA’s Chief Chef, Wayne Austin and volunteers.
This event is a great opportunity for adults to teach kids the sport of lake fishing. For many, it was their first time fishing, and for others, their first time catching a fish.
The ALA Board of Directors, Fish Committee and Staff would like to sincerely thank those that participated. A special thanks goes to UCLA Conference Center for their sponsorship.
Be sure and check the ALA website calendar for the next Junior Trout Rodeo.
