Roger Riley

Roger Riley has been an ALA employee since 2002 (although a summer as a lifeguard/gate guard in the early 70's at the Burnt Mill Beach Club and a couple of seasons at the Dam Snack Bar come to mind). Roger started as a seasonal Lake Safety Officer and ultimately advancing to Patrol Supervisor Wagner's assistant. He is a member of the California Boating Safety Officers Association and has taught boating safety classes for our membership. He was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor in the autumn of 2007.

Roger has been a permanent resident since 1964 and his family has been homeowners since 1929. His parents owned the Alpine Deli in the Old Village prior to the 1979 demolition of the commons. He graduated from Rim of the World High School in 1974, and also attended Cal State San Bernardino.

Roger has worked in the recreation and service industries his whole life, with short stints in the lumber, trucking, and oil exploration sectors as well. He also owned and operated his own business from 1988 through 2000.

Roger has been an active (some say "overactive") member of the mountain communities for over 40 years and his extensive time boating on the lake, in addition to his vast historical knowledge serves our membership (or as he continually says "customers") well.
