At-Large Office B Director

Mary Snaer and husband Bill purchased their Lake Arrowhead get-away as a young couple in 1968 and raised three summer kids on the lake. In 1988 they purchased the home that is now their primary residence.

Mary earned a B.S. in Education from USC and M.A. from Cal State Los Angeles. After an early teaching career, she later became business manager of their Arcadia pediatric dental practice. In 1979 Mary was elected to the San Marino School Board, serving twelve years including three years as president.

In 1992 Mary was recruited to run for the ALA Board and served until 1999. That tenure included being president, secretary, treasurer and a member of every committee. In 2002 LACSD appointed Mary to the stakeholders committee studying water allocation and she returned to ALA in 2004-2007 because of interest in resolving that conflict as a member of the Lake Stabilization Committee.

Community activities include Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, library literacy teacher, Chamber member, Hospital Summit Club, and Arrowhead Arts Association. She also enjoys membership in the Yacht Club and Country Club.

Recruited again in 2008, Mary is interested in opening the doors to new ideas and greater member participation. E-mail contacts are invited.
