Karen Vander Meyden was raised on the east coast, in Dover, Delaware. She received her two Bachelor of Science degrees one in Architectural Engineering and another in Civil Engineering from the University of Miami, Florida. Karen moved to California in 1979 to work for a major aerospace corporation where she continues to work. Karen has been a homeowner and lived in Arrowhead Woods since 1985, where she and her husband Peter raised their daughter Kirsten. Karen was an ALA Director from 2003 - 2006 and held positions as Treasurer, Fishing Tournament Chair and Lake Activities and Safety Chair.
